With a background in Public Administration and Educational Technology, Renata combines perspectives from public policy, technology, and learning design. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Media and Technology at São Paulo State University (UNESP, Brazil), where her research explores how generative AI can support the transformation of complex government documents into accessible and user-centered formats. Her work integrates information design, plain language principles, and technology-mediated learning to enhance civic access and reduce administrative complexity.
Renata is also a member of the Work Group "Right to the City", within the UNESCO UniTwin Chair “The City that Educates and Transforms.” Through this network, she engages with questions of how cities can foster more equitable access to learning, public services, and civic life. This collaboration expands her broader research by examining how urban environments can reduce structural barriers and create more equitable opportunities for learning and participation.
Before beginning her research career, Renata worked for nearly a decade at São Paulo State University (UNESP), where she developed solid experience in higher education administration. Her work involved providing technical and administrative support in curriculum review and accreditation processes, as well as creating digital resources and procedural guides for faculty, students, and undergraduate committees. She also contributed to institutional governance as a member of the Committee on Academic Policy and Programs and as Ombudsperson of the Institute of Biosciences.
